Sound financial management and property stewardship
Ebenezer Management Services, the largest senior housing management company in the Twin Cities, provides day-to-day accounting services and a property manager; Since Gramercy Burnhaven opened there has never been a special assessment. Replacement and operating reserves are carefully maintained.
Gramercy Burnhaven is a full equity cooperative. Most cooperatives are limited equity and are under the federal government HUD program. Owners at Gramercy Burnhaven are able to buy and sell their units at the current market rate. When you purchase a share in Gramercy Burnhaven, you own one share of the building and clubhouse. This entitles owners to their home and a vote in the yearly election of board officers. Monthly work sessions and board meetings are held and open to all members. Gramercy Burnhaven owners also may make upgrades to their units, with Board approval.
Resident Involvement
Several volunteer committees, including; building, clubhouse, finance, safety & security, grounds, guest suites, interior decorating, kitchen & social, library, marketing & website, sunshine, tech, and travel & entertainment meet regularly and provide assistance and recommendations to our Gramercy Board of Directors.
Social clubs include; bible study, book club, fine arts, gardening, aerobic water exercise and wood shop.
Every Wednesday, volunteers serve a community coffee. Information on current events and happenings is provided along with social activities and presentations on various topics. Each week a newsletter containing information and a variety of articles on various topics in addition to weekly meetings, events, jokes and puzzles is emailed to residents.
